Hello Reader, Hello from Ireland! I just finished up my Ireland County Mayo tour with a fabulous group of 7 travelers! We hiked, biked, baked, drank whiskey, cuddled lambs (watch the video!), visited ruins, and took a cold dip in the Wild Atlantic Ocean! When is the Right Time to Buy Travel InsuranceI recently had one of my Ottsworld Tour guests ask me this and thought this is probably something everyone would benefit from knowing! The best time to purchase travel insurance is once you’ve gotten all your arrangements nailed down, and you know your total pre-paid trip costs. You need to know your total costs to get an accurate quote, if you’re purchasing travel insurance with trip cancellation/trip interruption benefits. That way, your entire travel investment can be protected. This means that you don't necessarily need to be tempted to purchase it at the time when you purchase your airfare - you can wait until you know all of your trip costs (tour expenses, car rentals, hotels, etc.) However - I personally wouldn't wait until the last minute because you'll likely forget AND the earlier you buy insurance, the bigger your coverage window. Trip cancellation benefits begin on your plan’s effective date. So the sweet spot is wait until you have all of your prepaid and travel costs determined to the best of your ability, but don't wait until the last minute! Or you can do as I do and just buy an annual travel insurance plan so you don't have to remember anything! I use the Alliance Annual travel insurance plan and work with them as an ambassador.
